MSJY

MSJY, formerly Miss Jay, started out at club OOST in Groningen while a student and went on to residencies at De School, Griessmuehle and OXI. At OOST she created HomOOST, later renamed BUTTS, a series of queer nights, discussion panels, dance classes and community gatherings, and she is part of the Gravity Network programme across Europe. Her sets pull bass-heavy sounds, dark vibrations, breaks and dense IDM into fast, hard-hitting journeys, with a more delicate daytime side alongside the nocturnal one. She has recorded podcasts for Dekmantel and Ilian Tape, coordinates the FemmeBass Mafia mentorship programme, and has worked as a turntable and modular synth technician and in record shops.
