musclecars

musclecars is the New York DJ and production duo of Brandon Weems and Craig Handfield, who work around a shared belief that music should bring people together. In 2018 they launched Coloring Lessons, a monthly party built on house, disco, jazz and soul that looks back to the golden era of New York nightlife and honours the Black and brown musicians who shaped those sounds. In 2020 the pair followed it with the label Coloring Lessons Records, a platform for artists from their city and beyond that carries the same ethos of passing that history on to a younger generation. A steady run of mixes and releases built their name in underground circles, and their sets blend genres with a strong sense of community.
