Nazira
Nazira is a DJ and promoter from Almaty who has done much to build an electronic music scene in Kazakhstan. She came to wider attention through Unsound's Dislocation programme in 2016, playing Bishkek and Dushanbe before the main festival in Krakow, and later helped bring a one-off Unsound edition to the region in 2017. At home she runs ZVUK, a DIY event series founded in August 2016 that moves between unusual settings, and hosts workshops for local talent. She is a resident at Room 4 Resistance at ://about blank in Berlin and hosts the monthly Theory of Nothing show on Radio Cómeme. Her sets move through left-field techno, electro, acid and industrial, with angular rhythm and a dark, focused mood.
