Nene H

Nene H is a Berlin-based producer, DJ and live performer whose music draws on her Turkish-Azerbaijani heritage and a conservatory training in classical piano. Rooted in the city for over a decade, she is a presence in its queer underground and has championed SWANA, Muslim and femme perspectives in club spaces. Her catalogue spans Standard Deviation, Intrepid Skin, Live from Earth and Incienso, which released her debut album Ali. In the studio she folds folk and religious music, found sound and analogue textures into bruising club forms, while her DJ sets run on brutal drum patterns and twisted electronics. Her live work includes an eight-hour improvisation at STOOR, a choral collaboration with The National Choir of Georgia for CTM and a project with the Dutch Opera at Dekmantel.
