Patrice Scott

Patrice Scott's roots in Detroit run deep. At eleven he lived down the road from the early DJ crew Direct Drive, and their block parties set his course. He grew up on Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills and the radio shows of The Electrifying Mojo, with Larry Heard, Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles pulling from Chicago. In 2006 he launched Sistrum Recordings, whose smoky, atmospheric deep house became his signature, and in 2015 he released his debut album Euphonium. Records also appeared on Neroli, Sounds Of The City and People Of Earth. His music rolls on low and long, carried by spine-tingling vocal motifs and delicate keys, and his Dekmantel Podcast runs to a two-hour lesson in smooth, seductive house.
