Peaking Lights

Peaking Lights are Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis, a married duo who met in San Francisco in 2006 and have since lived in Wisconsin, Los Angeles and now Amsterdam. The band grew out of an improvised recording session, and their psychedelic pop leans on dub, with Dunis's vocals at the centre. The album 936, a neo-psychedelic record shot through with dub, brought them wide attention, and later records for Mexican Summer, Weird World and Two Flowers included the double album The Fifth State of Consciousness. They joined Dekmantel with the Sea of Sand EP and followed it with the album E S C A P E, their sixth. A collaboration with Lee Scratch Perry sits among their side projects.
