Perila

Perila is Aleksandra Zakharenko, raised in St. Petersburg and based in Berlin. Her music works with field recordings, whispered and spoken poetry, ethereal singing and slow-moving drone, treated as a kind of sonic diary. She founded the WET podcast series, a community that pairs her atmospheric sound with erotic spoken word. Her debut album How Much Time It Is Between You And Me? for Smalltown Supersound was recorded alone in a mountain village in France, and her catalogue also includes Jazz Plates, a collaboration with Ulla, with whom she has performed at Dekmantel Festival as part of the programme's experimental and ambient strand.
