Phillie P

Phillie P is a Serbian DJ whose selections are hard to read through genre labels. His scope reaches past the formative years of club culture that many DJs in his orbit draw from, setting contemporary playfulness beside the building blocks of dance music's heyday. He runs Ice City Records, a reissue label devoted to obscure and overlooked records, and that archival instinct shapes his sets without tipping into nostalgia. A mid-seventies groover and a DR-660 track from early nineties Memphis carry the same charge in his hands, while newer strains of club music rooted in Chicago house and early nineties London club culture widen the palette further. The approach is direct and free of pretence, trusting the records to speak. He played Dekmantel Selectors in 2025.
