Quirke

Josh Quirke first surfaced in the 2010s on Young Turks and Whities with a slanted take on hardcore and house, wrapped in dense atmosphere and a wistful melancholy that drew comparisons to Burial and Skee Mask. His debut album Steal A Golden Hail came out on Whities, after which he went quiet for a long stretch. He returned with Configuration OT on Dekmantel, four tracks that are the most upfront of his career while keeping the smudged beauty of his earlier work: haunted pads, blown-out synths and rhythms that draw on dub techno, hardcore and house. Quirke keeps a low profile and lets the records carry the weight.
