Relaxer
Relaxer is Daniel Martin-McCormick, who first recorded as Ital and came up through the American punk and noise underground of the late nineties and early 2000s in bands such as Black Eyes and Mi Ami, and that background gives his club music a visceral edge. His albums Concealer on Planet Mu, Coconut Grove on Avenue 66 and Hedonic Fatigue on Climate of Fear weave wormhole techno, minimal, noise, the UK hardcore continuum and fractured ambient. He performs hardware live sets honed over a decade of touring, the Relaxer project having debuted at Berghain, and DJ sets that cross genres and eras. He founded the labels Lovers Rock Recordings and Climate of Fear, co-founded the Dripping festival in New York, and served as co-director of Sustain-Release from 2017 to 2021.
