Ribeka

Ribeka is Becky Marshall, a DJ, radio host and party organiser from Glasgow, raised on an eclectic mix of avant-garde electronics and techno. She co-founded So Low with Iona Fortune and Katie Shambles, a night devoted to the darker recesses of synth, wave and industrial music, and hosted the show Narratives on Subcity Radio. The music she likes to play sits at the colder, dubbier end of the scale: cold synths and industrial electronics with a techno backbone. Away from the decks she works as a documentary producer, including on the BBC series Rip It Up about Scottish pop, has done freelance A&R for Mute's Liberation Technologies imprint, and supports Grassroots Glasgow, which pushes female representation in production and DJing.
