Roska

Roska is Wayne Goodlitt from south London, one of the architects of UK funky. He grew up in a Jamaican household on reggae, roots and dancehall, learned production in his uncle's Peckham studio, and started the Roska Kicks & Snares label in 2007 while still managing a phone shop; by 2010 he was making music full time. A weekly Rinse FM show from 2009 gave the sound a home, and releases on Numbers, Tectonic and Hotflush plus his first album Rinse Presents: Roska in 2010 carried it into clubs beyond London. RKS has since released MA1, Champion, Gemmy, Doc Daneeka and Murder He Wrote, while he also records as Bakongo and runs the RKS Dubz offshoot. He was a Rinse resident for more than seven years.
