RP Boo
Kavain Space, known as RP Boo, is a Chicago DJ and producer and one of the originators of footwork. Born in West Chicago, he started as a DJ and dancer with the House-O-Matics juke and house crew, making mixtapes and playing the Bud Billiken Parade, and his self-released singles of the late nineties, such as Baby Come On and the Godzilla track 11-47-99, are seen as foundational to the style. He released on Dance Mania in 2000 and built tracks on a Roland R-70 drum machine and an Akai sampler. His debut album Legacy came out on Planet Mu in 2013, followed by Fingers, Bank Pads and Shoe Prints, Established and Legacy Volume 2, among other albums. At Dekmantel Ten he played back to back with SHERELLE.
