Rrose
Launched in 2011, the Rrose project has produced more than a dozen vinyl EPs across Sandwell District, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Infrastructure and its own Eaux label. The music works with microtonal and unstable tunings, shifting overtones and slow modulation until tone and noise are hard to separate, with equal debts to Jeff Mills, Pan Sonic and Plastikman and to composers such as Eliane Radigue, Laurie Spiegel and Phill Niblock. Collaborative albums include work with Bob Ostertag on a Buchla 200E modular synthesiser, a two-piano record with Charlemagne Palestine and the Lotus Eater project with Lucy. For Further Records, Rrose extended James Tenney's Having Never Written a Note for Percussion for solo gong, and the first solo album, Hymn to Moisture, followed on Eaux in 2019. Rrose played Dekmantel Festival in 2016.
