Sadar Bahar

Sadar Bahar was born in Newark, New Jersey, in the late sixties and moved with his family to Chicago in the early seventies. His mother bought him his first pair of Technics turntables, and a childhood friend, Charles Brekenridge, showed him how to mix. He began DJing in the early eighties, schooled like many of his generation by watching Ron Hardy at the Music Box, but he chose a different path from the city's house DJs, digging for rare, hard to find soul, funk, boogie and disco. With partner Lee Collins he built the vinyl only Soul In The Hole parties and production company, a philosophy of real musicians and real instruments. BBE issued the Sadar Bahar Presents Soul In The Hole compilation in 2012, thirteen tracks from his crates.
