San Proper

San Proper is an Amsterdam original. He grew up playing guitar in bands, founded the six-piece Mindmenders in 1995 and won the Grote Prijs van Nederland with them before going solo, DJing in the city's clubs and building tracks on analogue gear. His unpredictable sets of house, disco, electro, afro and acid made him a local hero in the early 2000s, and he became a resident at Trouw. For Rush Hour he started the Proper A'dam Family Series in 2007 to push new talent from his home city, and his feral house and techno has appeared on Rush Hour, Perlon, Dekmantel and his own Proper's Cult. He was Dekmantel's first ever guest DJ.
