Scratchclart

Leon Smart has worked London's underground since 1997, first as DJ Scratcha on pirate stations and with Terror Danjah's Reckless Crew alongside D Double E, later hosting the Grimey Breakfast Show on Rinse FM. As Scratcha DVA he ran DVA Music for fifteen years and released the albums Pretty Ugly and Notu Uronlineu on Hyperdub, the second recorded entirely in the dark. Scratchclart is the name under which he plays where UK funky, gqom and amapiano collide. He went on to host a weekday slot on NTS, took up a Monday residency on Rinse FM again in 2025 and runs the label AllYallRecords. At Dekmantel Festival 2026 he shared The Nest with State OFFF.
