Sean Johnston
Sean Johnston started DJing in the north of Yorkshire and moved to London in 1988, where he fell in with Heavenly Recordings founder Jeff Barrett and Andrew Weatherall. He played the early nineties institution Sabresonic, also releasing on its label, and later Disco Bloodbath, and he records as Hardway Bros for labels such as Throne of Blood, Is It Balearic and Days Of Being Wild. With Weatherall he founded A Love From Outer Space, a club night that began in a Stoke Newington basement and held to a rule of never going above 122 bpm. Its slow, psychedelic blend of new beat, disco, kosmische, dub and proto-house still shapes his sets. He played Dekmantel Selectors 2024 back to back with Vladimir Ivkovic.
