Silvia Kastel

Silvia Kastel comes from Puglia in southern Italy and started out in experimental voice and electronics, performing live in her teens and studying sound engineering and electronic music in New York. She moved into DJing in Berlin, first on radio and then in clubs, and later settled in London with a monthly NTS residency. Her debut album Air Lows appeared on Blackest Ever Black in 2018, followed by Shakey on Palto Flats, Ormai for Hyperdub and Adult Swim, and the Xantharmony EP on Youth, with earlier work on Editions Mego. Her sets join the outer edges of experimental music to sensual club tracks, pop melody and bass-heavy polyrhythms, and she played Dekmantel Selectors in 2021.
