soFa

soFa grew up in the countryside of eastern Belgium and moved to Brussels at eighteen, where he has been a DJ since 1997, collecting vinyl without limits of place, era or genre. He describes himself as a lover of music that lies in between, and his long sets move from outernational and tropical wave to calypso, lo-fi disco and percussive rhythms. In 2017 he started the Elsewhere compilation series, which reached its ninth volume with Elsewhere CC on Les Disques Bongo Joe and has gathered music from Khidja, Anatolian Weapons and Tolouse Low Trax, working with labels including Finders Keepers and Music From Memory. He also records as part of CCCVVV, Mameen 3 and Nyati Mayi and The Astral Synth Transmitters, and broadcasts on Kiosk Radio in Brussels.
