Soft Break

Soft Break is Yessica Deira, a Rotterdam-born and based DJ, audiovisual artist and designer. Early encounters with her city's jungle, dubstep and grime scenes shaped her sets, which move through gentle vocals, percussion, hard drums, footwork, hip hop and sub-destroying bass, with the tempo pushed up whenever it serves the story. She graduated from the No Shade DJ mentoring programme in Berlin in 2020, holds a residency at MONO in Rotterdam and co-founded AMPFEMININE, a platform that amplifies femme-identifying artists through mixes, bookings and events. She has played Dekmantel Festival, Dekmantel Selectors, De School, CTM, RAUM, Garage Noord, Sonic Acts and the Venice Biennale, often alongside Nala Brown.
