The Blessed Madonna

Marea Stamper grew up in Kentucky, sold mixtapes at raves in the late nineties and ran the college radio station at the University of Louisville before Chicago made her. As resident at Smartbar she built the Daphne festival, which put women and non-binary DJs at the front of the city's programme, and her sets of house, disco and techno carry that Chicago lineage everywhere she plays. She runs the label We Still Believe, was Mixmag's DJ of the year, and her debut album Godspeed gathered a long list of guests. Now based in London, she played one of her early Dekmantel dates on a smaller stage at Lentekabinet and later went back-to-back with Mike Servito for Boiler Room at Dekmantel Festival.
