Yousuke Yukimatsu, who styles his name ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, was born in Osaka in 1979 and grew up on his father's classic rock before moving through metal, Sonic Youth and The Prodigy. He began DJing in 2008 at parties in Osaka and Kobe, where he started his own Zone Unknown series and booked artists such as Arca, Palmistry and Kamixlo. A 2014 set alongside DJ Nobu led to an invitation to Nobu's Future Terror in Tokyo, where he is now based. His CDJ sets join every imaginable genre with seamless, mind-bending transitions. His mix album Midnight Is Comin' on Singapore's Midnight Shift drew almost entirely on exclusive tracks by Japanese experimental artists, and he was part of the durational performance TRANCE. He played Dekmantel Festival in 2023.
