VC-118A

VC-118A is the best-known alias of Dutch producer Samuel van Dijk, who also records as Mohlao and Multicast Dynamics and treats all three as linked parts of one modular practice. His music plays on contrast: atmospheric pads against rough rhythms, blurring electro, techno, dub and ambient. Under this name he released the International Airlines album on Lunar Disko, the Shift Register LP on Tabernacle, made largely from one-take hardware jams, and the Vaxna EP, first on AC Records and then Delsin, alongside records for TRUST, Cultivated Electronics and Frustrated Funk. As Mohlao he made the techno album Landforms, and as Multicast Dynamics a series of ambient albums on Denovali. He recorded a Dekmantel Podcast.
