Veronica Vasicka

Veronica Vasicka is a New York native, photographer, musician and DJ who founded the label and online archive Minimal Wave. A founding member of East Village Radio, she managed the station in its pirate days and hosted a weekly show there for ten years, later presenting This Side of Nowhere on Red Bull Radio. Collecting forgotten records from the space between cold wave, post-punk, industrial and synth-pop, she coined the term minimal wave and tracked down the artists to reissue their home-recorded work. The Minimal Wave Tapes volumes 1 and 2 came out through Stones Throw, and in 2008 she launched Cititrax for newer synth-based acts. Her sets run from raw industrial electronics to cold wave fused with mutant house and techno, and she recorded Dekmantel Podcast 072.
