Violet

Violet is Inês Coutinho, one of the central figures of Lisbon's underground scene. She co-runs the queer event series mina and the internet radio station Rádio Quântica. She started out DJing in shops, pubs and hotels, lived in London for a period, and saw her career take off after returning to Lisbon. Her label Naive has released music by Octo Octa, Eris Drew, Almaty and Ilana Bryne, and her own Togetherness EP. Her mixing blends breakbeat, bass, techno and much else, with room for the odd Cardi B or 2000s RnB record. Her Selectors Podcast centred on young Lisbon producers such as BLEID, Stasya and Odete alongside Photonz and Marfox. She played Dekmantel Selectors 2019 and Lentekabinet Festival 2019.
