Wes Lee

Wes Lee is the electronic music alias of Wesley Texel, who spent twenty years helping to build the Dutch hip-hop and dancehall scene as the DJ WaxFiend and founded the events Encore, Jamrock, Tribes and Ziongate. The Wes Lee name grew out of a personal turn back towards his love of electronic music, and with it he champions dance music from Africa and its diaspora in the Netherlands. He describes the project as introspective, ancestral, deep and sensual bass and percussion driven electronic music, and his sets are built to connect the synthetic and the organic, the brutal and the sensual, away from playlists and algorithms. He played Dekmantel Selectors in 2024 and Lentekabinet in 2025.
