x3butterfly

x3butterfly is a Mexican-American DJ and producer from Detroit, based in New York. They began as an experimental performance artist while studying at the California Institute of the Arts, drawing on Throbbing Gristle and Floorplan and pairing productions shaped by UK and Detroit sounds with live spoken word. A move to Berlin in 2016 shifted the focus to DJing, and sets on HÖR became the breakthrough. Their mixes keep a raw, ominous edge rooted in early industrial and techno, running jungle, drum and bass, R&B, dubstep and techno at 140 to 160 BPM as a story told on the dancefloor. In New York they have played Bossa Nova Civic Club, Mood Ring and Nowadays, and they played Dekmantel Selectors in 2025.
