Zeta Lys

Dutch-born, Brussels-based Zeta Lys, aka Lucia, has a club-ready sound that draws on a world of broken rhythms and heavy percussion. Her influential radio show on The Word Radio finds her heading into new genre pockets around the globe, and she has stood out at Dekmantel Selectors. Lucia also composes for film and video, and techniques from both disciplines inform her work, with the result being music rich in dynamic narrative and ever-evolving mood. Her sets are prickly and fizzing with fresh rhythmic patterns: static electricity, warped basslines and distorted synths bring movement from the off as mutated, broken techno, dystopian jungle and deconstructed club rhythms collide at speed, ramping up and smoothing out the grooves at whim.
