DJ Plead

DJ Plead is Jarred Beeler, born in Sydney and based in Melbourne. His 2018 debut EP on Air Max '97's DECISIONS label set out his method: the rhythms and timbres of his Lebanese heritage, traditional percussion embedded in club music, crossed with the 2000s R&B and dance styles he grew up on. He co-founded the SUMAC label with LOGIC1000, Cassius Select and Utility, and his records have appeared on Nervous Horizon, Livity Sound and AD93. The 2020 album Relentless Trills, for Boomkat's Documenting Sound series, pushed past the dancefloor into ambient percussion and maqam melody, and the album Please followed on Smalltown Supersound. He holds a show on Rinse FM and recorded an RA podcast.
