Erik Madigan Heck

Erik Madigan Heck is the artist behind the vision for Safe Passage, the LP he made with Frits Wentink, who composed its final score. The project grew out of conversations between the two over the course of 2020, shaped by records that ranged from Arvo Pärt, Loscil, Julianna Barwick and Enya to Marcel Dettmann, Shadowax, Burial, Calibre and Source Direct. Safe Passage was remixed by Matthew Herbert, The Soft Pink Truth, East of Oceans, BvDub and Frits Wentink. Heck's So Much Love mix for Dekmantel brings those influences together, using cyclical repetitions of samples from Roni Size's Electricks, Tilda Swinton's voice from the album narration and the voice of his son Felix describing his dreams, alongside films by Nassia Kalamakis re-ordered and edited by Heck.
