Basel DJ Garçon calls himself an expert in mood modulation: he builds a groove slowly, teasing with snippets and dropping in and out of tunes rather than reaching for early gratification. His style is rooted in techno but drawn to the dubby, rhythmically dexterous ground beyond it, with broken techno, lurching bass and dark dub all in play. He was an original resident of the Basel club Hinterhof and later of Elysia, and with Agonis he co-runs Amenthia Recordings, a label that takes its musical identity from the utilitarian space of his home club. His Dekmantel Podcast 284 was recorded at Elysia on CDJs, turntables and a Space Echo, and he has played Dekmantel Radio alongside Pohon.
