Gigsta
Gigsta was born in Belgium, raised in France and is based in Berlin, where she is a resident of the queer, femme and nonbinary-forward collective Room 4 Resistance. Radio came first: shows on RCV in Lille and Canal B in Rennes, where her programme Track/Narre set out to narrate electronic music by theme, and later Fictions on Cashmere Radio, built around concepts such as colours, literature and spoken word. Fictions also became a party at Paloma and Sameheads. Her sets run from very slow to very fast, old to new, silly to ultra-serious, often with her own collages cut in. She researches the early press coverage of electronic music from 1986 to 1995, and she refuses air travel, a practice she calls slow gigging.
