Halal

Aurora Halal is a Brooklyn-based producer, DJ and visual artist who created the Mutual Dreaming party series and the upstate festival Sustain-Release, two cornerstones of New York's techno underground. Her records include the album Shapeshifter and the EP Liquiddity, and she plays live on hardware as well as DJing, with a shadowy, psychedelic style that melts genres together with experimental textures. She is a member of the Innergaze collective and has worked closely with Relaxer, also known as Ital; their joint tracks appear on the Lovers Rock compilation Collaborations 2014-2017, and the two played live together at Dekmantel Festival 2018. She recorded Dekmantel Podcast 106, and her back-to-back set with DJ Nobu at Dekmantel Festival 2023 was released as Dekmantel Mix 502.
