A new way to unite: Dekmantel Connects 10 days and numerous The Netherlands based artists and initiatives

10 days. One dedicated mini-site. Numerous artists and a wealth of different discussions, all of which are live-streamed: welcome to Dekmantel Connects, a hub of creative activity that joins the dots between many different aspects of electronic music and the culture around it through a series of live sets, workshops, panels, DJ sets, interviews and long form written content from Dutch people and initiatives.

In a year in which we have not been able to host any of our usual festivals in person, the team remained committed to the mission of meshing a wide range of disciplines, cultures, perspectives and approaches under one programming roof

Free to watch

For this free-to-view project we have curated a special daily programme of content that will see back-to-back DJ sets between established names and emerging talents, plus live sets from exciting bands, musicians and visual artists. The full span of Dekmantel Connects will also include: an array of radio broadcasts; workshops on everything from starting a label to music rights; panels which discuss topics such as being creative in a pandemic and nurturing counter-culture at community level; intimate one-on-one artist interviews; and two limited-capacity film showings with a Q&A at de Melkweg, plus one film streamed online in the Netherlands. The full whole programme has its own visual identity thanks to Natalia Stuyk, with sound design by upsammy and overall art direction by Bas van de Poel.

Dekmantel Connects is somewhere to come together and enjoy music, but also to learn, be stimulated by discussions and inspired by expert insider knowledge. The event is powered by Budweiser and Lynk & Co – we’d like to extend our thanks to our partners and all those supporting Dekmantel during this greatly uncertain time.
