Before we dive into 2025 with new announcements and releases, let us peer back to the past 12 months of Dekmantel Records.
This year, we’ve welcomed a couple of new label members like Theo Kottis and Sam Goku, had some exceptional projects like 'Saturn To Home' by Luke Slater's house moniker L.B. Dub Corp and released our Dekmantel Ten V/A compilation, which captured ten years and seven stages in a seven-record box set. Without exception music that excites us, and we’re more than eager to extend this into the new year. Plenty of new wax is looming, keep your ears peeled!
Theo Kottis - Lighthouse
This year Theo Kottis made his debut on Dekmantel Records with ‘Lighthouse’ EP. Following a self-imposed creative reset, the Scottish producer unveils four tracks which are built on iconic 90s sounds but charged with a new maturity: uniting sharp, snappy and melodic strains of house, techno and electro.
"The most remarkable thing is how the track keeps its cards relatively close to its chest, choosing subtlety over decadence. Sometimes, slow and steady really does win the race." - Resident Advisor
Tunik - Nosferatu
For his second Dekmantel Records EP, Tunik turned to the dark side on 'Nosferatu'; paying tribute to nocturnal creatures through boxy drum machines, seductive synths, grungy bass and dry snares with a fresh vintage flair.
L.B. Dub Corp - Only The Good Times / Burial Remix
In the run up to the release of his LP 'Saturn To Home', L.B. Dub Corp released emotive first single ‘Only the Good Times’. As if that’s not enough, the digital and limited-edition vinyl track coma with a surprise remix by the one and only Burial.
"My immediate thought was to get Burial to remix it, not only because he's one of the most entrancing producers ever, but also because of our heartfelt connection and to get him away from his PlayStation for ten seconds." - L.B. Dub Corp
Sepehr - Genesis Domain
Another Dekmantel Records debutant we saw this year was Sepehr. ‘Genesis Domain’ transports us to a fictional metaphysical zone where his symphonic, transcendental techno flourishes (and allows us to flourish). Ever consistent with his versatile and intricate approach to production, this EP proves that any blend of tempos and rhythms can be folded into his singular, shimmering sound world.
"Genesis Domain is mood-altering music at its finest." - Resident Advisor
L.B. Dub Corp - Saturn To Home
After a five-year hiatus, Luke Slater revived his L.B. Dub Corp moniker with a vocal-led, autobiographical ode to the club. ‘Saturn to Home’ features eight electrifying tracks that embrace the human rhythm as well as its imperfections. Slater’s voice is featured alongside that of, amongst others, Robert Owens, Miss Kittin and Paul St. Hilaire. Remarkably, the new LP also includes live drumming by Slater for the very first time.
Sam Goku - Radiants
Sam Goku made his first appearance on Dekmantel Records with 'Radiants'. On his four-track EP, out June 14th, the Berlin-based artist further establishes himself as a dynamic techno force taking the less obvious path to creating sonic showstoppers. ‘Radiants’ fuses his maverick energy with mystical sound design, disjointed vocals and anthemic hooks, among others, to subvert the rules of club music.
Olof Dreijer & Diva Cruz - Brujas
'Brujas' is the first collaborative record by Olof Dreijer and Diva Cruz. Born from a longstanding musical partnership, the forthcoming EP sees The Knife's Olof Dreijer and Colombian-Swedish percussionist Diva Cruz channeling their love of fierce percussion, fiery vocals, global influences, cutting-edge production, and anti-establishment messages into three floor-ready tracks.
